چکیده

Electric potential near a wall in plasma with magnetic field increasing toward a wall is investigated analytically. A magnetic field that is symmetric about an axis and increases monotonically toward the wall is considered. The potential profile is analyzed by solving the plasma-sheath equation that gives the electric potential in the plasma region and the sheath region near the wall self-consistently. The potential in the plasma region depends on the profile of the magnetic field and the ion temperature. As the magnetic field near the wall increases and the ratio of the ion temperature to the electron temperature decreases, the potential drop in the plasma region decreases. The potential also depends on a ratio of the increase rate of the magnetic field to the decrease rate of the potential toward the wall. When the increase rate of the magnetic field is larger than the decrease rate of the potential, the potential drop in the plasma region becomes large compared with that in the magnetic field of which increase rate is smaller than the decrease rate of the potential.

Magnetic Field Effects on the Elastic Behavior of Polymeric Piezoelectric Cylinder Reinforced with CNTs

In the present study, the magnetic field effects of the elastic response of the polymeric piezoelectric cylinder reinforced with the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are studied. The cylinder is subjected to an internal pressure, a constant electric potential difference at the inner and outer surfaces, and the thermal and magnetic fields. The Mori-Tanaka model is used for obtaining the equivalent materi...

Flow field and heat transfer in a channel with a permeable wall filled with Al2O3-Cu/water micropolar hybrid nanofluid, effects of chemical reaction and magnetic field

In this study, flow field and heat transfer of Al2O3-Cu/water micropolar hybrid nanofluid is investigated in a permeable channel using the least square method. The channel is encountered to chemical reaction, and a constant magnetic field is also applied. The bottom wall is hot and coolant fluid is injected into the channel from the top wall. The effects of different parameters such as the Reyn...

Electro-magneto-thermo-mechanical Behaviors of a Radially Polarized FGPM Thick Hollow Sphere

In this study an analytical method is developed to obtain the response of electro-magneto-thermo-elastic stress and perturbation of a magnetic field vector for a thick-walled spherical functionally graded piezoelectric material (FGPM). The hollow sphere, which is placed in a uniform magnetic field, is subjected to a temperature gradient, inner and outer pressures and a constant electric potenti...

Negative plasma potential relative to electron-emitting surfaces.

Most works on plasma-wall interaction predict that with strong electron emission, a nonmonotonic "space-charge-limited" (SCL) sheath forms where the plasma potential is positive relative to the wall. We show that a fundamentally different sheath structure is possible where the potential monotonically increases toward a positively charged wall that is shielded by a single layer of negative charg...
